Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can the boat fit?

We can take up to six guests aboard Sunset. If your group is larger than 6, visit our sister ship the Ventura at www.sailnewyork.com to book your charter.

What if our group is less than six?

We regularly take out groups of less than six. Sunset is a perfect sized boat for a couple to enjoy a special occasion. Since all of our charters are private, you are guaranteed to have the whole boat to yourself when you book with us.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes you may! We also have plates, cups, utensils, a refrigerator, and ice on board for you.

Where do you typically sail?

Our typical route is to depart from our homebase at Pier 25 Marina in Tribeca, cruise South around Lower Manhattan and into the bay to escape the NYC boat traffic and catch the best winds. We sail close by the Statue of Liberty all while taking in great views of the city skyline.

Are children allowed on the boat?

Yes they are. If they are under the age of 12, they will need to wear a life jacket which we provide.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

Yes, we have a bathroom on the boat located in the cabin.

What happens in the case of bad weather?

If the weather is too bad to sail (a complete rain out or stormy/hazardous weather), we will work with you to reschedule your sail to another day or time. In some cases, we may delay your sail by up to one hour to wait for a weather system to pass. If we cancel your sail due to weather and you are unable to reschedule your sail, you can be issued a full credit for another sail or a refund.
